Originally from New Zealand, Bernice knew from a young age that music theatre was her calling and at the age of 18 moved to Australia to attend the University of Ballarat Arts Academy, completing her B.A in Music Theatre in 2010.
At the tender age of four she began Ballroom and Latin American dancing at her parents dance studio where she subsequently over a number of years gained numerous regional and national titles. While still at school Bernice frequently performed in her schools national award winning choir and various singing competitions. Bernice was also a member of the Canterbury Opera Youth programme giving her an opportunity to be in the Children's Chorus of TOSCA (2005) and PAGLIACCI (2005). She then went on to be a featured soloist in THE CHRISTMAS PROMS (2006) with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
Through her time at the Arts Academy Bernice partook in numerous productions including THE LIFE (Dance Captain), URINETOWN (Mrs Millenium), and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (The Pearl Lady/ Ethel Peas).
Bernice also took great pleasure in performing her self-devised Cabaret TRAPPED ONLINE at the Butterfly Club in 2010 which she hopes to revisit and rework in the near future.
