In 2007, Montana moved from Perth to Victoria to attain her Bachelor of Arts In Music Theatre at The University of Ballarat Arts Academy having already completed her Certificate II in Music Theatre at The West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

During her time at the Arts Academy Montana played the roles of Dainty June in GYPSY directed by Terrance O'Connell, Harriet Piper in THE HATPIN directed by Kim Durban with Musical Direction by Peter Rutherford and Mrs. Phagan in PARADE directed by Tracey Bourne. She was also a featured soloist in a John Bucchino Masterclass.

Since graduating she played the role of Mildred in SATURDAY NIGHT as part of the Magnormos A SONDHEIM TRIPTYCH directed by Terence O'Connell.
